Voki's

Using a voki enables people to create their own digital person that can represent one’s self or another character. After going to http://www.voki.com/create.php, I followed the easy steps to create my own speaking voki! First I chose my character, edited her hair, makeup, clothes etc, then I simply recorded my own voice and uploaded it to the page. After these few simple steps I had my own digital character. I believe using a voki would be very effective in an educational setting as it could be used to introduce a new topic of work or for online classrooms and learning. As the voki will speak either an uploaded recorded or a typed message, using a Voki in a blog or wiki would be an excellent way for students and teachers to communicate using voice. Although I have never previously used or created my own voki, I found the website made it very straight forward and easy to create from the easy layout and instructions. This would be ideal to incorporate into an educational setting.
